Pulp

“A refreshing contrast with most Scandinavian-American novels...
full of eccentric characters and whimsical events.”

— don lago, author of on the viking trail

PulpThis light-hearted tale recounts the adventures of O. E. Mollerstuen, a bumbling but prolific dime novelist who is summoned to Norwegian Ridge, a hamlet nestled in southeastern Minnesota, in the latter part of 1908. Upon his arrival, our corpulent scribe is immediately drawn into a diabolical mystery involving the homicide of a local vagrant. Along the way Mollerstuen interacts with an array of proud and eccentric persons, clashes with the town minister, meets the love of his life, and consumes vast quantities of aquavit and various other old country delights. But this is merely the tip of the kransekake. There is much, much more for the good reader to consume. So, step right up, ladies and gents, and enter this magical milieu — where the tale is both tall and wide.
